Our youngest child of 4 finished school at the end of 2012.

Recognising that for 19 years our lives had revolved around our children and their schools and that they were all growing up, we made a conscious effort to do something together each week. Just the two of us. To stay… I know it sounds wanky, but… connected.

Too many stories of friends and others separating and divorcing at a time when you can finally spend time with that person you love.

And so began our year of weekend breakfast together.

No repeats, no friends, no family; just us.

We made the mistake of starting local, and so the first month or two was around the main northern train line where we live in Sydney. This was a big mistake – after discovering the Inner West, we never really looked back.

We have certainly enjoyed some abfab dishes… pressure’s on every time I get out the frying pan!!
