Week 36 ~ J is for Jaffas

Think the iconic Jaffa and you think of…?

We headed out to Top Ryde for dinner with Emily and Tom before going to the cinema to see Ricki and the Flash, a light hearted, predictable flick about “a musician who gave up everything for her dream of rock-and-roll stardom returns home, looking to make things right with her family.”

To be honest, the movie is beside the point – for us it’s all about making the effort to do something once a week.

Week 29 ~ C is for Cat Stevens

It’s taken me nearly 54 years, but I did it! I am no longer one of the minority of Sydney residents who have never been to Penrith Panthers! What a huge club! 7 restaurants, venues… a small city within a city!

With a dozen friends we headed out west to see the Peace Train – A Tribute to Cat Stevens show by Darren Coggan.

It was great. The story told of the life and times of Cat Stevens through spoken word and his songs.

Good fun 🙂

Week 24 ~ X is for eXhibition

The last few years we’ve gone to the World Press Photo Exhibition at the State Library in Macquarie St and enjoyed it, so we went again today.

Lots of confronting images of war, death, poverty , illness, mental health, disease and deprivation, as well as sport, science, politics and the like.

Such a reinforcement of how lucky we are to live in Australia, and how important it is to work to maintain the peace and freedom we so often take for granted.

It was also a great opportunity to catch up with Annie and Stephen McRobie after their fabulous Spain and Morocco holiday over breakfast at the Circular Quay Pullman Q Dining

Great start to the weekend.
