Drive past The Cauliflower Hotel and you’d be forgiven for failing to realise what lies behind the front wall facing busy Botany Road in Waterloo.
First opened in 1838, so of course it has the obligatory front bar but beyond this is a back bar, and upstairs is the “Forgotten Cask” rooftop bar, a terrific retreat with lounges as well as tables and bar stools.
They also brew some serious beers here… 10 and 11%! Not to my liking, but wow!!
