We’ve walked around Birchgrove once or twice before – the dogs love the little beach at the end of Louisa Rd – and with local-only COVID-19 options available, we went back for a swim and walk.

The Swain Gardens, at 77 Stanhope Rd, Killara, is a beautiful little pocket of suburban peace and quiet.

Lovingly tended, beautifully designed old garden.

Well worth a visit with or without a dog!

There’s a good loop walk from Rhodes, over the (newish) pedestrian bridge to Wentworth Point, then back to Rhodes via the mangrove and bird-watching path.

Macquarie Park and bike track

It was near the start of COVID-19 lockdown, so we walked along the bike path to the shopping centre to buy… yep… toilet paper and rice! We’d made the mistake of not hoarding like everyone else so we were in need.

Lovely day for a walk, so we went along the bike/shared bike/footpath to the shops; while one shopped, the other went for a stroll around the new towers.

Thanks to my sons for this find.
And well done Inner West Council – Marrickville Golf Club closes the first fairway each Sunday afternoon – beers and dogs on the green. Nice!

This video shows the scene 🙂

At Bayview, on Pittwater, is a beach and spit extending towards the Newport Arms Hotel.
On any given sunny weekend day, there you’ll find hundreds of dogs, either on the beach, oval or swimming.
What a sight!
