There’s a great path right around the lagoon at Narrabeen on Sydney’s northern beaches.
A busy path, lots of walkers and bike riders.

We’ve walked by a hundred times, but never actually entered.
What a mistake!
Sydney Park is huge, with heaps of off leash areas, and an interesting history.
A plane! Rarely seen in COVID-19 during 2020!
Yanko Road at West Pymble, has a great fenced-in off leash dog area on the Comenarra Parkway, and the Bicentennial Park is adjacent.
A lovely spot for a walk.
So this weekend, very excited… cafes are back opening so we went for breakfast at Parramatta and then headed over to North Parramatta where we did a loop track around the lake.
Wikipedia says:
- The masonry arch-walled dam was completed in 1856 to supply water for domestic purposes
- The dam was the twelfth engineered dam built since Roman times
- the first engineered dam in Australia
- the second arch built dam universally that involved calculations for its construction.
Wow. Who knew?

We walked The Ponds Walk – part of the Subiaco Creek Bushwalk, from Dundas up to Carlingford.

We’ve walked around Clarkes Point many times, but, still under the COVID-19 stay at home and travel less in full swing, local exercise options were allowed so we went back for another walk around Hunters Hill and Clarkes Point.

We’ve walked around Birchgrove once or twice before – the dogs love the little beach at the end of Louisa Rd – and with local-only COVID-19 options available, we went back for a swim and walk.

The Swain Gardens, at 77 Stanhope Rd, Killara, is a beautiful little pocket of suburban peace and quiet.
Lovingly tended, beautifully designed old garden.
Well worth a visit with or without a dog!
