How cool to find both of our maternal grandmothers, Ada (Kelly) and Amy (Hogan), have streets in the same inner Sydney suburb! An easy walk from one to the other and back.

Makes sense I guess… they are both “older” type names, and Erskinville, being so close to the CBD, is one of those older suburbs.

Typically inner Sydney – narrow streets, lovely small parks tucked into odd shaped allotments, an eclectic mix of old, new, renovated and funky.

We finished with breakfast at Bitton Cafe at nearby Alexandria, where we went in 2013, the first year we began this whole weekend thing.

Now, to find a suburb with both Ronald and Clarence Streets to complete this little side project 🙂

Henry St, Dee Why

Sydney’s northern beaches on a balmy early autumn evening. Fish and chips by the beach… bloody seagulls!

Henry St runs west from the main Road heading north into Dee Why. It’s at the crest of a hill, so the views for houses on both sides are lovely, looking north over Dee Why beach towards Long Reef.

Home owners of a couple of ramshackle, unrenovated, weatherboard or fibro homes sitting on a fortune! 🙂

Nic is our oldest nephew.

Nicholas Ave is down near the water at Concord, not far yet a thousand miles away from busy Burwood and Strathfield.

There’s lovely walks along the waterfront nearby. Not that you’d want to eat any of the fish caught here, but it’s constantly getting cleaner.

Geoffrey is my brother. Sadly, absolutely NO STREET SIGN for Geoffrey St, so he’ll just have to take our word for it!

Lovely, quiet little loop/cul de sac backing onto the bush just off the Comenarra Parkway in Sydney’s north.

A nice walk with the dog on Geoffrey’s birthday.

Emma St, Mona Vale

Emma is one of our nieces.

Many would know exactly where Emma Street is; it’s the street on the infamous corner that has seen some horrific crashes and deaths as trucks hurtle down Mona Vale Rd.

It’s a hilly street with commanding views to the water from the crest of the hill.

We went there as it’s nice and close to the popular dog beach at Bayview.

David is Robyn’s sister’s husband, who now lives on the Gold Coast.

David St is a short street that runs off the Pacific Hwy at the corner of North Sydney Girls’ High School (the old site of Crows Nest Boys’ High)

Some gorgeous older semis, new backyard developments and renovated homes.

Susan is my niece.

This Susan St is in Newtown, is a quiet, narrow, small street in an area that historically was working class small cottages and semis and rows of joined houses with dunny lanes.

Now? Who doesn’t want to lice in a cosmopolitan, bustling are 2 km from the CBD?

Love the park on the corner. Love the nod to its former use.

Elder son, Matt. (Whoops, already done Matthew St in Crows Nest! #favouritechild?? LOL)

Such a range of houses around St Ives. Rundown bungalows strewn with rubbish, huge houses with manicured gardens, even old houses with horses in the adjoining paddock (2 horses on a block, probably about $1million per horse!)

Robyn Ave, Belfield

Set among some beautifully maintained streets and houses, 7 families call the quiet cul-de-sac of Robyn Ave “home.”

Belfield, midway between Belmore and Ashfield, home to people from all over the world.

Great little cafe at the local shops… Brick Lane N12 espresso wine bar.

Sam is my sister Catherine’s eldest.

Samuel St is a cul-de-sac that has easy pedestrian access to Blaxland Rd and Top Ryde, but is very quiet and quite secluded

Our friend Jeanette lived here when she lived in Sydney. Sold – no doubt for a unit development.
