Free public transport in Sydney over Easter, so we took the chance to travel on the light rail from Circular Quay to Randwick, then back towards central to go to Reuben Hills cafe for a coffee and cake.

This cafe in Parramatta, just south of the train station, roasts its own coffee and does a delicious breakfast.

So this weekend we visited a local artisan French baker in Ryde.

Just like being in France, and if the queue out the door to buy on a Saturday morning is any indication, everything they have here is pretty special!
Batch Brewing

Another microbrewer in Marrickville this weekend.
Batch has a couple of outlets, this one in Marrickville was their first brewery.
A constantly changing range of beers to enjoy.
No kitchen, but a pizza truck out the front on the day we visited.
Dog friendly 🙂
Sauce Brewing Co is an independent microbrewery in Sydney’s inner-west.
A great choice of different craft beers, and a lovely place to sit and enjoy a beer on a weekend afternoon.
We went there with one of our sons – he assures us he’ll shout “next time.”
Nice to support an independent brewer.
Modus Operandi, a craft brewer in Mona Vale in Sydney, has recently opened a venue in Merewether in Newcastle.
We were up in Newcastle for the day to go to the Newcastle Camping and Caravanning show, so we called in.
Fabulous venue. Clever use of materials.
Riverside Brewing Company

Riverside Brewing Company is a craft brewery at North Parramatta at the end of North Rocks Rd.
They make 8 different beers, all available on the tap at the brewery or for takeaway in cans or growlers.
Good to drink local on a Saturday afternoon.
