LOVE daylight saving Β And long weekend public holidays!
Beautiful day for a lovely walk along the Parramatta River from Meadowbank to Silverwater
A fabulous wide, level bike path past ovals, water play playgrounds and more.
ANOTHER gorgeous Sydney spring day for a walk along another part of the Parramatta River… we’ve walked through the grounds of the old Gladesville Hospital before, but not this year.
Great to catch up with son Matt, who lives in Gladesville, for a coffee while we were there Β π
We started with breakfast at The Coal Loader Cafe. in Balls Head Rd at Waverton, where we were a few weeks ago.
Beautiful spot – have to remember this as a venue for a 60th or similar.
From there we headed west, making our way around Balls Head Bay and Oyster Cove, around Berry Island Reserve and on towards Greenwich above the fuel tanks at Gore Cove, some of which have been removed, but some are still in use today, pumping fuel from here to Clyde near Parramatta.

Coal Loader Cafe. Lovely.

Oyster Cove at the end of Wondakiah Dr at Waverton. Dense housing around, but lots of parkland maintained. Nice!

Berry Island – the point where land was filled to connect it to the mainland and make it no longer an island as such,

THE spot to watch the fireworks in Sydney! Greenwich Rd, above Gore Cove.
Overcast and showery for a walk today through Putney towards Gladesville.
A real mix of houses, some beautiful, some ugly, others huge and some obviously just sitting on a goldmine by the water and refusing to waste a cent on any renovation or work before selling for demolition in the future.
Who knew that the original James Squire Bewery, Australia’s first brewery, was in Ryde, eh? Well, Putney. Where the red spot is below.
A lot of this walk was along the waterfront and through parks… nice.
Lovely afternoon sun for a walk through a historic part of Hunters Hill.
How ridiculous there are no apostrophes in place names any more because people don’t know how to use them. Grrr

A beautiful afternoon for a bay-side walk.
Today, Easter Friday, we walked from Canada Bay along the waterfont, through Cabarita to Mortlake, near the car ferry across the river to Putney.
We love walking through areas where the home owners don’t own the water; makes for a much nicer walk π

A beautiful path virtually the whole way.

First weekend of Robyn’s school holidays… after a busy term for her, we decided a bit of pampering was in order, so we headed up to Pacific Bay at Coffs Harbour for a little bit of luxury for the weekend.
We stayed in an apartment overlooking the resort. The weather wasn’t the best, but it didn’t stop us having a great weekend together.
Easter, and an opportunity to enjoy the company of Phil and Jill Walker, friends from Canberra and the brains behind this year’s alphabet theme.
After 2 days of solid rain, the sun came out and a chance to enjoy a lovely breakfast at Ripples Cafe at Chowder Bay before heading towards Neutral Bay to walk around Cremorne Point and show off the most beautiful kilometre this city has to offer.
Don’t think we have EVER given an 11/10 for breakie before… and if our coffees came a little bit sooner, it would have been.
So 9/10
WOW! We both had the Arabian Eggs (from a very small menu)
They were sensational – best egg breakfast we’ve had in the past 3 years, probably.
This tiny cafe is right on the wharf at Kirribilli. Make a choice… catch a ferry or eat… decisions, decisions!
A tiny, but really interesting menu – see it here
It’s a great location, right next to Admiralty House

Robyn had a red hot crack at re-creating Arabian eggs – damn good!
